The documentary with the working title "Being Sabrina" is the documentary presentation of a woman who is unique in her own way and therefore extremely promising. "Being Sabrina" tells the story of Sabrina Simader from birth to the present day, elegantly blending the different stages of her life. The documentary is highly emotional and the viewer experiences all the highs and lows of an exciting life journey. The focus is always on the subline: Living your dream, even when the obstacles are omnipresent.

The fact is that Sabrina, as an absolute exotic, has made it to the top of a sport that is actually almost unattainable for Africans: skiing. The subject matter itself has always been very successful and guarantees that this documentary will be a great success. People love exotic sports and wish them success. Sport is not always just about winning. It's about people who fight, no matter how hopeless the situation may seem.

"Being Sabrina" is a mixture of photo and film material from the past and the 25-year-old's present life. There is a strong focus on emotions, as the story is an emotional one. The movie is visually strong and plays on the narrative level with subtle nuances between success and failure, happiness and unhappiness, joy and sadness. "Being Sabrina" is like life, just a little different. Sabrina's environment is inevitably part of the documentary. Sarina's mother, her trainer, her manager, her friends, her colleagues will be a natural part of the documentary. They will also be involved in the historical aspects and current life. We are also creating a novelty. We will integrate the social media channels into the documentary. A new kind of multichanneling. 

The aim of the film is still being defined: It doesn't necessarily have to be a World Ski Championships. It could also be a trip to Kenya or moving into your own apartment...

Product placements and cooperations:

The aim is to integrate new sponsors for Sabrina into the documentary. Since we are documenting everything, a possible advertising deal would also be part of a realistic depiction.  The integration is correspondingly simple and elegant.

Sabrina Simader was born in the Kenyan coastal town of Kilifi. At the age of three, she moved with her mother to St. Johann am Wimberg in the Mühlviertel region of Upper Austria. She learned to ski on her adoptive father Josef Simader's home lift, who also acted as her first coach. At the age of ten, she became club champion on the Hansberg for the first time. The family later moved to Haus im Ennstal, from where Sabrina attended the Schladming main ski school. In the summer of 2012, her stepfather suffered a fatal heart attack.

Sabrina is the only athlete on the Kenyan ski team. Since the sudden death of her father, she has been coached by former ÖSV coach Christian Reif, who has already trained Alexander Khoroshilov. Sabrina celebrated her first successes in 2012 with the Styrian school champion titles in super-G, giant slalom and combined.

On January 7, 2017, Simader made her World Cup debut in the giant slalom in Maribor. She was the first Kenyan woman to compete in an Alpine Ski World Cup race and attracted a lot of media attention. 

At the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, Simader was the first Kenyan woman to compete in an Alpine Olympic competition. After carrying the Kenyan flag at the opening ceremony, she competed in the giant slalom on February 15. She finished 38th in the super-G.

On January 29, 2019, Simader won her first FIS race in Krvavec. No female or male ski racer from Africa had achieved this before her.

Sabrina Simader speaks three languages, German, English and Kikuyu. At the first Black Austrian Awards, which were presented for the first time in 2018, Simader received the prize in the Sport category.
